Proverbs day 27

Study Proverbs 23:15-16 and 2nd Chronicles 1:7-12

Q. How have I been wise this month?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

God definitely appreciates it when we make the right choices. When we are wise with our actions, and use our wisdom to increase the kingdom of God, God blesses us in innumerable ways.

I hoped you enjoyed the Proverbs devotions! :)

Proverbs day 26

Study Proverbs 12:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Q. Did I run the race for God's reward?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

This excerpt has always been one of my favorites. Running for God's reward is a little strange, everyone is different, it could be goals or qualities. Ask God what it might be for you. Train your mind and body to attain the goal which God has set.

The Neighborhood Cat Burglar

Our neighbor came over the other day to tell us he had a cat burglar in his basement.

The cat burglar broke his basement window and climbed in. He was unhurt but still in his basement.

He asked our assistance in getting the neighborhood nuisance out.

Scene of the crime.

The Cat Burglar returns to the scene of the Crime

The Mug Shot

Height: 15 inches, with tail 20 inches
Weight: 12 lbs
Eyes: Green
Fur: Black and white tuxedo with white paws

Keep out a look out for him, he can be dangerous!

Jimmies

Jimmies are a sprinkle. Disgusting little sprinkles. I don't know about you, but they taste gross!

We got ice cream the other night. Yummy!

My Dad got sprinkles for all the girls. And me.

See this picture? I had 5x this when I got the sprinkles with ice cream on the side.

I don't think I had a bite that didn't have 100+ sprinkles with it.

Sigh........................................

Proverbs day 25

Study Proverbs 20:15 and Deuteronomy 6:8-9

Q. What verses can you memorize?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Memorization is a key part of reading God's word. If we keep his word in our heads all the time, we won't be as likely to let or thoughts wander. Proverbs such as these are a very good place to start. I've memorized Ephesians 3:14-21, a powerful prayer that discusses the greatness of God. Learning verses can be key to your Faith.

Proverbs day 24

Study Mark 13:22:37

Q. Am I ready?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

If Jesus knocked on the door today would we be ready? Whether it is passing on to heaven or The day of the Lord, would we be ready? I think that most of us Christians would be, but what about all the lost people, still in the dark? How can we reach them?

Proverbs day 23

Study Proverbs 17:1 and Genesis 14

Q. How can I prevent strife?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Abram and Lot separated as his herdsmen and Lot's herdsmen were causing strife. To end the strife, Abram let Lot choose where he wanted to go, Lot chose the path that looked the easiest, greenest and lushest. Abram went the other way and because Abram did the right thing, God blessed him. If we choose the right path, God with bless us in innumerable ways.

Proverbs day 22

Study Proverbs 17:17 and 1 John 3:11-20

Q. Have I been a good sibling/friend?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Verse 17 really applies to this. If we want to "fix" the relationships we need to be able to help anytime, listen anytime, and always ready to forgive and love. This can be hard as we are easily drawn to ignore our siblings and pay more attention to friends.

Proverbs day 21

Study Proverbs 22:11 and Galatians 5:16-26

Q. Did I have a pure heart?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

The fruits of the spirit are a good standard for life. They help you remember that God doesn't want a smidge of you to "work" for him he wants the whole you. And in order to do that we need to constantly cleanse our hearts by living out the fruits of the spirit. :~)

Proverbs day 20

Study Proverbs 26:1 and 1st Peter 2:12

Q. Did I act foolishly?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Yes, I acted foolishly today, and I act foolishly everyday. Unfortunately we live in such a fallen broken world that it happens too often. Remember the Parable of the wise and foolish builders? The wise man built his house upon the rock and the foolish built his house in the sand. If we have a firm foundation in God we won't act foolishly.

Proverbs day 19

Study Proverbs 15:1 and  Colossians 3:12-14

Q. Did I give soft answers?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Bear with each other and forgive one another. I know I have trouble with this all the time. And when you are tempted to argue with one another remember to love them even for the faults they commit. Humans aren't perfect. Only God is. He offers the premium forgiveness.

My new sheet set!

These are my new jersey knit cotton sheets!

They are sooooooooooooooooo soft!

The white embroidered pillow on the far left and the pink pillow on the far right are from my best friend, Heidi.

And the bunny on the bed is Turtlebunny.

Proverbs day 18

Study Proverbs 27:5 and Matthew 18:15-17

Q. Have I ever had to confront someone?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

(Hiding from his confronter)

Confronting someone is never a easy chore, or task. God doesn't want to lose believers or even those who don't follow him. We always need to be ready to keep the church, as a whole, clean so we don't have to confront others at all.

Proverbs day 17

Study Proverbs 11:2, Romans 12, and Matthew 6:3-4

Q. Was I proud today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

I mentioned the other day that the people of God tend to follow a pattern, disobey, repent, obey, and so on. Pride goes through the same cycle. We are proud, we fall, we become humble. As the famous saying goes, Pride goes before a fall.

Check out: We Are Those Girls

I guest posted on Chivalry over at We Are Those Girls today.

Chivalry is a dying art. Now most people place chivalry in the middle ages: Knights in shining armor rescuing damsels in distress. Let me tell you about the modern chivalry – the chivalry that happens everyday in the world around us.

To read more go to We Are Those Girls.  :)

Proverbs day 16

Study Proverbs 19:17 and Colossians 3:23-24

Q. Did I (fill the blank) for God?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Everything, not just some things, every thing, do it for God. He is the one who enjoys it the most. You are not serving a human, you are serving the King of kings and the Lord of lord, do your best. If you wash the dishes, wash them for God. If you scrub the floors, scrub them for God. Do your best in everything!

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Proverbs day 15

Study Proverbs 27:9 and Romans 1:11-12

Q. Was I a encourager today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

(You may have to click to the blog post to view the movie :)

When we encourage each other it builds us up in Christ. I think encouraging, like prayer takes many years to build up, unless you are a natural encourager. Do you hear a lot of encouraging or more discouraging words? If you hear a lot of encouraging words you should from those around pass it on!

Proverbs day 14

(Life is finally back to normal, as it possibly can be. :)

Study Proverbs 22:1 and Isaiah 40:46

Q. Do I have a good name?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

There is billions of people in the world. Just like the stars, we each have a name. We might not be as readily noticed by people of the world, but God loves us because we are special to him. Even if we are not popular, poor, rich, young old, he loves YOU!

Remarks

I never want to talk ill about people. I extremely dislike it. But I'd like to tell y'all to be careful with the story of what happened this week.

This was the week of the recital.

My sister (above) did an awesome job. :) She has worked really hard and did her best.

Backstage though is always crazy. Kids running around trying to burn off energy and keep themselves occupied while teens change costumes lickety-split.

My sisters were running around playing with people having fun. I wasn't too worried, as long as they were reasonably quiet thats good enough for me. The recital only comes once a year.

And then she came up, a student that barely knows my sister.

And she started...I know now why you are always tired.....yada yada.

I simply ignored her after 5 minutes as I needed to get back to the stage.

And then it happened last night.

She went on and on again.

I told her. "I know. Really I know. I know!"

Enter headbanging against a wall. Sigh....

She meant well.

The moral...be careful how you say things!

Fortune Cookie

I was sweeping the floor today when I found this fortune cookie slip.

"Use your natural versatility
to keep from being bored."

:~)

Proverbs day 13

Study Proverbs 23:12, Isaiah 48:17, and Psalm 32:8-11

Q. Did I use my knowledge today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

God teaches us how the right way to do things. Unfortunately we don't use it. As you look through the course of Bible history, something happens in a pattern. God gives us the knowledge and instructions. We disobey, end up in a whole lot of trouble, and then regret what we did and repent. We should use our knowledge and instructions God gave us constantly.

Wahoo!

We have gotten over 3,000 views!!!!

Thank you all! :~D

Proverbs day 12

Study Proverbs 18: 16 and Romans 12:1-8 & Matthew 6:3-4

Q. How have I given today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Giving is a special gift, and everyone can give something, time money, objects or qualities. Make a list of thing or qualities you can give and then do a couple or all of them. I read an old Scottish folklore test on generosity. They would give a baby a large coin right after he or she was born. If it held on to the coin it would be  a greedy child, if the baby let go s/he would be generous.

Proverbs day 11

Sorry I'm a little behind from the weekend! We had fun fishing at a derby and these are the awards my sisters won from the fishing derby we went to.

Study Proverbs 10:4 and Hebrews 6:10-12

Q. How was a cheerful and diligent worker today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

God LOVES when you reach out to others. He knows/notices everything! Admit it, you never realized it in your heart that, He loves it! And he also loves that YOU! did it! Helping others with God in mind is one of the best things you can do. :)

Mother's day!

My Mom and I bonded on Mother's day.

We bonded in the prompt care room.

I have asthma and it is acting up. :(

(Hey, do you like my Dino mask? ;)

Happy Mother's day Mom!

To top the day off, Mom and I saw a double full rainbow!

Proverbs day 10

Study Proverbs 18:16, Romans 12:1-8, and Matthew 6:3-4

Q. How have I given today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Giving is a special gift, and everyone can give something, time money, objects or qualities. Make a list of thing or qualities you can give and then do a couple or all of them. It could be as simple as making cards for the elderly people at Church to say how much you respect them. Or even paying for someone's meal in the drive-thru.

Proverbs day 9

Study Proverbs 10:4 and Hebrews 6:10-12

Q. How was a cheerful and diligent worker today?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

God LOVES when you reach out to others. He knows/notices everything! Admit it, you never realized it in your heart that, He loves it! And he also loves YOU! Sometime maybe the person you help will help you and if not then you still have the pleasure of making their day, and God's!

Proverbs day 8

Study 2 Corinthians 12:19-21 and Proverbs 26:20

Q. Have I gossiped today, or how have I prevented it?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Gossiping is a impure fault. Christians often gossip and the Bible clearly says avoid every kind of evil, and that includes gossip. Speaking purely is very pleasing to God.  Can we speak pleasantly and purely if we are engaging in gossip. Most times it would be better if we are silent.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Proverbs day 7

Study Proverbs 15:23 and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Q. Were my words timely and with love? Not sarcasm?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Sarcasm, a cutting remark. I know people, and even my self, who can be what very sarcastic. The world in general uses it a lot. It is not a timely way to speak. Recently I pulled sarcasm off so well one of my friends was horribly confused about what I was talking about. A timely reply with grace will take you much farther.

For tomorrow read Proverbs 26:20 and 2nd Corinthians 12:19-21

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Proverbs day 6

Study Proverbs 16:16, 2 Chronicles 1:7-12, James 1:5

Q. Have I spoken wisely or used wisdom?
Q. How have I seen/felt His love?

Some people think to be wise is to learn and take many college courses. But the key to real wisdom is asking God for it and then using it to read the bible and through prayer. Wisdom also requires incredible patience, something that is also hard.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Happy 5th birthday to Lil'G!

Proverbs day 5

Read 2 Corinthians 3:18, 4:7-12 and Proverbs 17:19

Q. How does my life reflect?
Q. How have I seen/felt God's love?

Do I reflect God and his love? If I asked someone who I reflect, would they say God? When we walk through life we often forget why we are here and who put us here. What we should be doing is showing the world how awesome our wonderful God truly is.

For tomorrow study Proverbs 16:16, 2 Chronicles 1:7-12 and James 1:5.

Saturday, May 4, 2013

Proverbs day 4

 Study Proverbs 19:11 and 2 Corinthians 6:3-10

Q. Have I kept my anger under control?
Q. How have I seen/felt God's love?

We are God's servants. We should never "place a stumbling block" in our anger. Rather, as servants of God, we need to serve him with a happy heart so that our wisdom will reflect who we serve and affect our choices we make. (As does Mr. Rogers.)

For tomorrow study Proverbs 17:19 and 2 Corinthians 3:18, 4:7-12

Friday, May 3, 2013

Proverbs day 3

Jeremiah 9:23-24 and Proverbs 27:1

Q. Have I boasted today?
Q. How have I seen/felt his love?

So I can boast, about God, but he "frowns" when I think about myself. Do I boast about him?Do I walk through my day, in an polite way and say God did that? Do I marvel and boast about the things he had created? I need to sit down and think about the magnificent things he has done.

For tomorrow, study, 2 Corinthians 6:3-10 and Proverbs 19:11.
