Photo-A-Day 16

"My Shoes" - Once upon a time I had a pair of nice white sneakers. I loved those sneakers........and then I outgrew them. In need of sneakers I wore sandals as it was summer until I could get some. Well one day my Mom and I found a mysterious pair of sneakers on the porch. They were hideous and big. Well we asked a few people that had been to our house if they were their's but we couldn't find the owner. One day I new I needed new sneakers, the white ones were very uncomfortable. So I put these on. They didn't have a inner sole, but that didn't bother me too much. Well these sneakers have been mine for 3-4 years now and they are still going strong. The original laces broke this past summer while we were camping so I bought a pair of black laces. They aren't pretty, they aren't fashionable, but they are my sneakers and very comfortable. And every winter, from November to March, these are the shoes to wear. :~)
The End.

#10 - Angels from the Realms of Glory

Angels from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o’er all the earth;
Ye who sang creation’s story
Now proclaim Messiah’s birth.

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Shepherds, in the field abiding,
Watching o’er your flocks by night,
God with us is now residing;
Yonder shines the infant light:

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Sages, leave your contemplations,
Brighter visions beam afar;
Seek the great Desire of nations;
Ye have seen His natal star.

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Saints, before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear;
Suddenly the Lord, descending,
In His temple shall appear.

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Sinners, wrung with true repentance,
Doomed for guilt to endless pains,
Justice now revokes the sentence,
Mercy calls you; break your chains.
Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Though an Infant now we view Him,
He shall fill His Father’s throne,
Gather all the nations to Him;
Every knee shall then bow down:

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

All creation, join in praising
God, the Father, Spirit, Son,
Evermore your voices raising
To th’eternal Three in One.

Come and worship, come and worship,

Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Our family has used this tree topper for as long as I can remember. :~) I would love to have one like this for my own house someday. :~)

"Something Sweet" - Can you resist this??

#11 - We Wish You a Merry Christmas

We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy new year

Good tidings to you
And all of your kin
Good tidings for Christmas
And a happy new year

We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy new year

We are using this song this year for the end of our Nursing home shows. The picture is from a show we did last year. An almost full size Santa Claus dancing statue was in the lobby, so my friends and I took turns posing with it. ;~) ( It was so hard not to laugh :~D )

"Christmas Tree" - No explanation needed ;~)

#12 - O Come All Ye Faithful

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem

Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
Christ the Lord

Sing, choirs of angels
Sing in exultation
Sing all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to God
Glory in the highest

Oh, come, let us adore him
Oh, come, let us adore him
Oh, come, let us adore him
Christ the Lord

O Come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem

Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

When I was younger, T-Tot and I came up with our own little "Christmas Show" for our parents. T-Tot danced to this song, and had the arm movements for the chorus memorized for several years. Once she started doing it at the Christmas eve service while we were singing!

"Green" - Well it is not all green but the palm trees are! And would be able to resist a 15m old playing with the Nativity, and Thomas the Train? Oh it was so cute! She was having fun "walking" the camel up the ladder! :~D Oh, and that's her bunny rabbit, Turtlebunny in the top right corner. :~)

#13 - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain Shepherds
Brought tidings of the same:
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

And when they came to Bethlehem
Where our dear Saviour lay,
They found Him in a manger,
Where oxen feed on hay;
His Mother Mary kneeling down,
Unto the Lord did pray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood
Each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas
All other doth deface.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

When ever I hear Bing Crosby sing this, I'm transported to childhood and can remember listening to this while we get our tree decorated, or simply listening to Christmas music for fun.
