The 12 Days of Christmas: Day 12

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

So to end our fun little series, I've picked a really cheesy movie! lol It's a good Hallmark one though! :~)  

"A teenager has his Sitka Spruce tree chosen to be planted outside the White House as the new national Christmas Tree" 

They go cross-country from one side of America to another, run into a wildfire and other numerous problems, but in the end everything turns out great! As most good movies end.... ;~) Heehee!!

The 12 Days of Christmas: Day 11

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

Ahh...I haven't watched this one in forever! I remember watching this with some microwave kettle corn popcorn as a kid! Heehee!! I will admit, I haven't seen this one in a year or two, but it's still a favorite of ours! Maureen O'Hara did a wonderful job in it! :~)

Fred Gailey: Your Honor, every one of these letters is addressed to Santa Claus. The Post Office has delivered them. Therefore the Post Office Department, a branch of the Federal Governent, recognizes this man Kris Kringle to be the one and only Santa Claus.
Judge Henry X. Harper: Uh, since the United States Government declares this man to be Santa Claus, this court will not dispute it. Case dismissed.

The 12 Days of Christmas: Day 10

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

While this isn't a Christmas movie, it does have Christmas in it!! I love the pageant the kids put on. It's such a cute scene. If you haven't watched any of the other clips I've posted along with these posts, at least watch this one. ;~) Heehee!! In "It's a Wonderful Life" the movie playing at the movie theater is "The Bells of St. Mary's". The director had made this movie before "It's a Wonderful Life" so he wanted to give credit to his previous movie! :~)

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

"The Christmas Bunny tells the story of a lonely foster child (Sophie Bolen) who finds a lost, injured rabbit in the woods on Christmas Eve. The rabbit is nursed back to health by The Bunny Lady (Florence Henderson), who runs a rabbit rescue in an old barn behind her Michigan farmhouse."

This is a sweet, tear-jerking Christmas movie we watched for the first time last year. We've watched this one year round, also. It's not a big budget movie, in fact it was filmed in 18 days, but it's still a sweet movie. It is becoming a favorite in our family!! :~D

The 12 Days of Christmas: Day 8

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

If you need a good cry, this is the movie to watch. Christmas Child is a bittersweet story. The description is as follows:

As Christmas draws near, Jack finds himself disconnecting from the holidays, his job, and ultimately his wife. His latest assignment as a journalist takes him to Dallas, but a mysterious photograph draws him to the town of Clearwater, Texas. It is here he discovers the town's life-sized, intricately carved nativity. As Jack delves into the mysteries surrounding the nativity and its creator, he uncovers secrets from his own past, reunites with the family he never knew, and returns to the love that never left him.

So yes, it's a sappy Christmas movie, but it's still a favorite Christmas movie of mine! :~)

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

 How could it be so? It came without ribbons!... it came without tags!... it came without packages, boxes, or bags! He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more! ~ the Narrator

This is another one of our favorites that we watch year round! As everyone pretty much knows this one, I won't elaborate much on it, but I will say it's such a good one! Sigh.... :~)

The 12 Days of Christmas - Day 6

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

You can't do Holiday Inn without White Christmas! I have to say, like Holiday Inn, this movie is a classic because of the singing and dancing. Ahh I love to watch their techniques! 

Though I have to say, the one thing that bugs me in this movie is that the girls on pointe (dancing on their toes) at the end of the movie, are way too young to be doing pointe.

That aside, it's one of our family's favorite Christmas movies! This is another one we watch year round, just cause we love it so much!!

For the 12 days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

Heehee!! This isn't a Christmas movie, but it does have Christmas in it! Holiday Inn is such a fun movie!! I love Irving Berlin's music. He was a wonderful composer and songwriter. With Bing Crosby's singing and Fred Astaire's dancing, it's an awesome classic!!

And actually, since we are discussing Christmas movies, here's Bing Crosby singing White Christmas! Christmas just isn't the same without him singing it!

Ah...A Charlie Brown Christmas! This such a good Christmas classic! Did you know next Christmas will it's 50th Anniversary? And did you also know that Charles Schultz refused to use laugh tracks in it? Did you know that the first night it aired, over half of America who had television sets, tuned in to watch it? And everyone thought it would be a flop! I love the song, Christmas Time is Here, from it! In fact this past Christmas, I did a dance to it in our Christmas shows! :~)

The 12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

For the 12 Days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

I know I did "A Christmas Carol" yesterday, but I have to do this one also! I love The Muppet Christmas Carol! I will admit I like to watch this year round! My favorite character cast in this was Miss Piggy as Mrs. Cratchit! Even when reading the book, I picture Miss Piggy in her role as Mrs. Cratchit. Yes, I know, it's pathetic. Heehee!! I also like how Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat narrate this, it's a fun twist!

Gonzo: My name is Charles Dickens.

Rizzo the Rat: And my name is Rizzo the Rat... wait a second! You're not Charles Dickens!

Gonzo: I am too!

Rizzo the Rat: No! A blue furry Charles Dickens who hangs out with a rat?

Gonzo: Absolutely!

Rizzo the Rat: Charles Dickens was a 19th Century novelist! A genius!

Gonzo: Oh, you are too kind!

Rizzo the Rat: Why should I believe you?

Gonzo: Well, because I know the story of A Christmas Carol like the back of my hand!

Rizzo the Rat: Prove it!

Gonzo: All right! Um, there's a little mole on my thumb, and um, a scar on my wrist from when I fell off my bike...

Rizzo the Rat: No, no, no, don't tell us your *hand*, tell us the *story*!

The 12 Days of Christmas - Day 2

For the 12 Days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

This is our second favorite Christmas movie! George C. Scott did an amazing job as Ebeneezer Scrooge! This is another one I remember watching for as long as I can remember. Every Christmas season we'd sit down and watch it...and if we had some on hand, we'd definitely have some popcorn! I particularly love the ending of this version! 

A wonderful classic Christmas story! 

I also highly recommend the book, it's my favorite work by Charles Dickens!

The 12 Days of Christmas - Day 1

For the 12 Days of Christmas, I have decided to share 12 Christmas movies that my family loves!

It's a Wonderful Life is our favorite Christmas movie of all time, so naturally I'm doing it first! We always watch this movie in the evening, after dinner, on Thanksgiving. It's probably my favorite Christmas tradition...albeit we watch it on Thanksgiving.

My Mom even did a post about our love for this movie! (she has an awesome blog by the way ;~)

It's a good reminder of how important our life is, and that our life is truly a wonderful life!

Ahh....now I'm ready to go curl up in a blanket with some cocoa and watch it! Heehee!
