~ Being the first to spot the beautiful moonrise!

~ Hearing about my family's adventures at the fair!

~ Being able to do my bible reading on the kindle when my eyes are bothering me!

~ Enjoying a yummy dinner of soup and toasted cheese with bacon ;~)

~ Having adoring kitties take care of me today when I wasnt feeling well! <3 

Beautiful Blessings - 8/10/15

~ Not getting a migraine until after I came home from work!

~ Getting a 2-in-1 picture from L-Jo to make me feel better! <3 

~ Getting to the library and whatnot before it started raining!

~ Delicious beef, potato, and kale soup for dinner made by our awesome resident chef, Mommy!

~ Seeing how tall the corn has gotten in the past month!

Warm and yummy Corn Soup!

You poor guys have lots of posts to read! :~)

Last one....no promises....

1 can of corn
1 onion
2/3 cup of chopped chicken
3 tablespoons of horseradish mustard
Celery seed (optional)
Garlic powder (optional)
1/3 cup of heavy cream

Saute the onions at medium till brown. Do NOT turn the burner on high and burn your onions like I did.

Dump in the corn, and chicken to simmer.

Throw in the rest of the ingredients to serve.

I think it makes 2-3 big bowls and 4-6 little bowls....

Silly Saturday: Fortune cookie saga

While frying onions, I decided to have a fortune cookie.

Sounded simple. We had plenty extra.

I opened it. 

"Only tears can bring a dreamer back to earth."

(I wish I had been dreaming when this occurred). 

My cookie was STALE! :~(

I threw it out and got another.

"You will have a happier day."

(I hope so. A stale fortune cookie could ruin my day!)

It was soft AND stale. :~(

I got another. 

"Oops... wrong cookie."

(NO JOKE)

It was also stale.

I was still frying onions and I WANTED A FORTUNE COOKIE!!!

So I got a 4th.

"There is someone owing many thanks to you."

(For what? Getting rid of stale fortune cookies??)

It was awful.

So cookie no. 5 came along. 

"He that can't endure the bad will not live to see the good."

Now I wanted to laugh. 

Especially because it was disgusting......

So I decided since the onions I was frying were almost ready for the potatoes....this would be my last.

I opened it.

Gently broke it open.

Carefully tasted it....

IT WAS YUMMY!
