Something I absolutely love!

Something I absolutely love is when the invisibly barriers between toys are broken and creativity comes to life!

Playmobile toys explore the unlimited creations that can be made with these building pieces.

A tiny house emerges in the cabinet space of a dresser.

Treasures are collected and stored in a safe place.

The fairies are ready to make play-doh creations!

A tablecloth for a tea party? Why not use it to swaddle the baby?

Who says that dolls need to be all from the same set when you play? With dolls of all shapes, sizes, and ages, adventure is imminent!

The Pleiades

(Picture credit goes to my Dad. Taken a few years ago)

Every winter, since I was a little girl, I would scan the winter sky for the Pleiades.

Every year I'd search until I found them.

Today I found them in the night sky, and I'm still amazed that yet it's such a tiny constellation, they're mentioned 3 times in the Bible.

Job 9:9 (ESV)
Who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the chambers of the south.

Job 38:31 (ESV)
Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loose the cords of Orion?

Amos 5:8 (ESV)
He who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning and darkens the day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the Lord is his name.

From here, they seem so small, yet they are stars which are a clear indication they aren't.

Stars fascinate me.

I could look at them for hours.

While the Pleiades may not be one of the larger constellations, or more important ones, they're always there.

Year after year.

For centuries.

It leaves me in awe.

Psalm 147:4 (ESV)
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names

Isaiah 40:26 (ESV)
Lift up your eyes on high and see:
    who created these?
He who brings out their host by number,
    calling them all by name,
by the greatness of his might,
and because he is strong in power
    not one is missing.

The stars were created by an Almighty God.

When I see what he has made, I'm in awe of his power.

God is good.

Thank you God for making the stars!

1 Timothy 4:4-5 (ESV)
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

Trust God Always

Sometimes it's hard to trust God. We turn to the world, to our friends, to our money, and to our "love life" for consolation during tough times. And by doing so, we forget we have an awesome God who has created everything.

Recently my friend was really upset. Over a year ago she had a broken headlight on the car she was driving. She was pulled over, warned, and ordered to have to fixed as soon as she got home. She took care of it, sent in paperwork and it was resolved. Just a few days ago she got a letter saying that they never received the paperwork. She told me what had happened, and was clearly upset. I told her I'd pray about it with her. A few hours later she told me that she had forgotten to trust God and talk to him about her problems. When she realized and remembered that he had everything under control, she felt peace and was able to trust God.

I've had several friends come to me recently, for advice and prayer. I will tell you this: I'm always willing to talk and pray with you, but never forget that God is always there. He's always in control. He's always there with open arms, waiting for you fall back into his unfathomable love, mercy, and grace. Don't let the worries of the world stop you from trusting in God. He'll be there for every problem, for every heartache, for every eensy-weensy sniffle, and every terrible disease.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

People of Jordan: Peggy and Mary Beth

(Peggy)

(Mary Beth)

Mary Beth, Peggy, and their sister Nona (not pictured) run a business called A Few Good Bananas. They don't sell them here in Jordan, but this is where they make their creations. They re-purpose fabric and old clothes to make one-of-kind hats, ear warmers, mittens, fingerless gloves and accessories made from upcycled materials. Right now they are going to try making stylish dog jackets.

They sell their creations in many places including Ithaca, and Rochester.

Some fabric awaiting special treatment. Also known as waiting to be turned into something awesome! ;~)

(I love the label!) They've had their business for almost 4 years now. It's family run so when ever family or friends are in the area, they stop in to help out.

They've met a lot of cool people at the various places they've sold their creations. As Peggy said, it's almost like having fun playing all day!
