A Project

This past weekend was my birthday! I had a lovely time with friends and family.

I've had a project lurking in the back of my mind for the past few months and I decided to do it for my birthday!

Make a dress!

Now my skirt I cut out 2 Christmases ago still isn't finished, but I had an idea for a dress that would take about a half an hour to pin and sew.

You need a shirt and a skirt! (I got mine at the Salvation Army.)

Have a friend help pin it at the height you want, I was going for late 50's, early 60's, and sew!

I've worn this for 2 days now and it is so comfy to wear....

....I see more in my future....

12 days till X'mas!

12 days till X'mas 12/12/12!

We made Cinnamon Ornaments!!

(Sitting in the oven, just cause)

A friend gave us the dough, but you can make your own!

You need the ratio of 1:1.

E.g. 1 cup of applesauce and 1 cup of Cinnamon.

Mix it up and roll it out.

Cut it up with cookie cutters!!! :~D

If it gets to sticky use some cornstarch to alleviate the stickiness.

Bake @ 200 Fahrenheit until hard. (We haven't gotten that far).

My Mice

I used some candy canes, that I mentioned here, to create the candy cane mice. I will have a total of 7 when I am done, but right now only 3 are ready. Aren't they cute??

Wouldn't you like to wake Christmas morning
to see him peeking out of your stocking?

Aren't the adorable? I said it before. This is the cute kind of mouse! :~D Tasty too! My cat Ansel, tries to convince me the other kind are yummy, but I don't trust his shifty character. lol

37 days till X'mas

Every Christmas season I always look at the Martha Stewart website for Christmas ideas. I saw these today, and I will be making some VERY SOON! They are absolutely adorable.

These are so cute! Don't you agree?

How to make them:
Mouse How-To
On a photocopier, enlarge mice template by 150 percent; cut out. With a pencil, trace ears and body onto felt; cut out. Cut inner ears and a dot for a nose from felt in a contrasting color, cut dots for eyes from black. Glue the face and inner ears in place. Make slits in body for ears and candy-cane tail where marked; to make cutting easier, fold felt across center of slits, and snip. Slip ears through slits at front; then slide wrapped candy cane through body slits, tucking the end underneath the ear piece at the back.

I see working on this, this afternoon or in a few days! They would be cute in the Christmas stockings!

The complete house

My Sisters have had so much fun with it this year. I almost wish we could make another one!

Christmas Countdown: Day 48

A cute Christmas present idea!!

(Can't take credit, saw it online! :~D)

Once a Month Book Club

Every month your child/sibling's unwraps a package that has a book.

We are going to do ours every 25th of every month.

Every month till the following November they get a new book.

The kids benefit from the books, and, if your like me, you local bookstore will too. I get my kids books at the library's book room for $0.25 apiece. (Plus tax).

So I am very excited about this project. And if you think of the cost I will get them at, the total project will cost: $3.24 cents for every 12 books!

So I am excited about this.

This will be one of the best presents I've ever gave!

Updated Laundry Detergent

If you buy soap from the store and shred it the next day, it will look like CHEESE!

Still works.

Recipe

1 shredded bar of Ivory soap (smells divine when you shred it!)
1 cup of baking soda (I used Arm and Hammer)
1 cup of borax (I used 20 Mule team borax)

I doubled it last time.

Silly Saturday: A tutorial

My sister Lil' G showed me how to do "Pony Side-it's".

A very (cough) handy thing to know.

Step 1. Find a door way. Make sure there is nothing you could bump on.
Step 2. Stand on the left side.
Step 3. Hop to the right.
Step 4. Repeat as many times as wanted.

Happy Silly Saturday!
