The Laundry Letters

Dear Self,

While choosing my outfit for the day, I found it imperative to wash laundry soon as I tried on several outfits that didnt work due to the missing pieces in the dirty laundry. I ask you please do laundry soon before you resort to frumpy homeschooler jumpers.

Sincerely,
Moriah

Dear Moriah,

I can understand your dilemma. I ask that you NOT resort to frumpy jumpers. I will run in terror if you do so. Please do laundry as soon as possible. And after you run it through the washer and dryer, please please please, put it awat so we can avert another crisis such as this.

Cordially,
Self

Dear Self,

Does that include hanging up things in the closet? If so, those frumpy jumpers sound great for the sake of simplicity and comfort. Am I also to clean my room? Please respond so I know the answer to that pressing question.

Sincerely,
Moriah

Dear Moriah,

Why do you blog about such matters? Why arent you doing your laundry? Yes you need to hang things up! As I said, if I catch you wearing frumpy jumpers, I will run in terror, and then where would you be? Go do that laundry or so help me, you're fired!

Cordially,
Self

Dear Self,

Yes, Ma'am! I will go do so right away! I apologize for my laziness. I humbly ask that you forgive me. As I finish my reply to you, I shall go do my laundry immediately. Please forgive such an atrocious mistake!

Sincerely,
Moriah

Dear Moriah,

Thank you! Thank you for starting a load of laundry! You will have no regrets! I thank you for taking the time to listen to my advice and follow through with it. I ask that you listen to the rest of my advice tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening!

Cordially,
Self

Temptation of Time

Time. What a temptation it is to waste it! I bought a watch the other day. I absolutely love wearing it! The shiny gold watch with a sleek brown leather band, is memorizing as you watch the seconds tick by. While I currently write this on paper to transfer to my blog later, there is a strong temptation to waste time and energy. I'd really like to chat with a friend online, but between thoughts on wasting time, I'm doing laundry (a way I can use my time better!). Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells about time. How there is a time and place for everything. With this watch I've discovered how fast time ticks away...

...a second lost here, a second lost there. The school season is upon me. My time is being filled with many blessings. School, my job, sisters, housework, and more! I could waste it on frivolous things or I could use it wisely. Is chatting with a friend, frivolous? No! On the contrary! Chatting with a friend deepens the bond of your friendship. So why did I choose to sort laundry? Because there is a time for everything. And the time right now would best be spend doing laundry! Use your time wisely so you don't succumb to the temptation of wasting it!

30 Days of Love: Day 7

Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Today, when you work on laundry or housecleaning, take a quick break. Grab your Bible if you'd like, and spend sometime in prayer for the person you are showing love to.

A late evening episode!

Last night I was sorting laundry in my room. The kids were playing with the neighbor kids. Dad was doing dishes and Mom was putting her feet up. (She sprained it on Saturday). All of a sudden I heard screams, screams are normal but these are screams of fright and distress. I came downstairs to see L-Jo being ushered into the house.

A fox bit my sister.

We called 9-1-1 and they came quickly. This fox had attacked a couple other people but soon the fox's life was disposed off. The 7 year old was hysterical. She always gets hysterical when people get hurt.

The kids were playing outside when a fox bounded up and tried to attack them. T-Tot hit the fox with her balloons and Lil' G was knocked over. The neighbor kids ran away screaming. That's how I knew something was wrong.

L-Jo, Mom, and Dad went to the ER, and she was treated for rabies. She was a little shell shocked but a little trooper. One of the doctors brought in an Ipad and put on Dora so they could give her the shots. All she did was say "Ow".

Grandpa came bearing lifesaver peppermints and stayed with us girlies. After we showered the girls down, we enjoyed watching Parent Trap and put them to bed. I stayed up until 1:00, but couldn't stay alert so I headed off to bed. They literally got home 5 minutes after I went to bed.

L-Jo is doing fine and currently watching Hello Dolly. Laundry is awaiting, so I bid adieu. :)

In which I Ramble about Nothing in Particular

I have Algebra to tackle today. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

(I think this expression nails my feelings perfectly!)

And laundry. I need to toss mine in the washer, and REMEMBER to put it in the dryer.

(Do you know how hard it is to
find clothes if they are all dirty?)

Rule of thumb for black cats is don't lay in the dark where a laundry basket might land!

(the Culprit)

Mom is taking T-Tot to the Dr's. Her eye is swollen. :(

(Our acrobat, who needs Cirque du Soleil?)

We found out she has pink eye.

OH OH OH OH!

Today I meet a voice teacher! I might take voice lessons!

(Can y'all do that?)

I rambled about nothing in particular, so go enjoy the day!

Updated Laundry Detergent

If you buy soap from the store and shred it the next day, it will look like CHEESE!

Still works.

Recipe

1 shredded bar of Ivory soap (smells divine when you shred it!)
1 cup of baking soda (I used Arm and Hammer)
1 cup of borax (I used 20 Mule team borax)

I doubled it last time.

Things I'm currently digging

(Who came up with that term?!?!?!?!
      digging
  1. The action performed by a person or thing that digs.
  2. A place where ore is dug, especially certain localities in California, Australia, etc. where gold is obtained.
  3. (archaic, colloquial) region; locality)

Anyways:

Homemade laundry detergent!!!

I have used it soooooooo many time. And I love how the clothes turn out.

Timeless Classics (My favorite X'mas CD)

My Mom got this and I helped her put it together. It is an awesome resource for children's workers.

I think I have read about 75%-80% of his books. They are SO good. My Mom saw a children's one
("The Dance", MOVING STORY!) by him, and said "Another book by Richard Paul Evans?" :~D

Pictures!!!
The lady in-charge of coordinating C.E.F.'s C.Y.I.A. training sent us our group pics! I put them up immediately in my room.

And a cleaned closet!

Things I am NOT digging:
  1.  No camera.....mine is officially dead. I loved my camera....it was an awesome point and shoot. :~(
  2. I am not DIGGING THE GARDEN!!! :~)

Have a wonderful gorgeous beautiful marvelous autumnal day!

Ingredients:

1 shredded bar of Ivory soap (smells divine when you shred it!)
1 cup of baking soda (I used Arm and Hammer)
1 cup of borax (I used 20 Mule team borax)

Mix it thoroughly and use 1 table spoon per load!

My waterlogged goals, and bible verse tutorial

I had them written out on a pretty piece of paper. And they were ruined when a glass of water tipped over.

:~(

Thank goodness for blogging, I still have them!

Bible Verse tutorial:
  • sharpie
  • wood pieces (I used left over rectangles from a previous project. They were 3x5in.)

  • painters tape
  • a Bible verse
I wrote 1 letter on each piece of board. When I had the verse written out, I took the painters tape and made a loop of tape over my finger and attached it to my letter. And did the same for the rest. Nails would work too, but the painters tape does not leave holes or marks on the wall.

Be joyful always. 1 Thessalonians 5:16.

I put them by the washing machine.

What verse would you choose?

Goals for the week

The coats straightened feels marvelous.

My sisters' room, does not........ I see her cleaning it in the future.....

Anyways, My Goals:

Write a schedule; what we will do everyday..... I had one but it was too complicated.....

Start school, organize books, look over Math book, and finish my week to week planning.

Clean the laundry room.

Clean the quilt that has sat in the laundry room for forever and a day.

Memorize Ephesians 3:14-21

Switch the toys, refresh them.

Make:
Finish my skirt
Remake my old night gown
Crochet premie hats
Make a pillow spacer so my 2nd to littlest sister doesn't keep bonking her head

Get on a dish washing schedule.......(nervous laugh) I promised my Mom while she was on bed-rest the dishes would stay cleaned...... but it didn't happen. Now it will! :~)

Prepare for a friend coming.

Clean our sun-room/porch.

Put up more bible verses. (I'll show you a pic of one I put up, and how to do it, later.... in my free time....haha.

And call a Sunday school teacher.

Clutter: Coat baskets

Halfway done.

I have 2 empty baskets.

I am currently surrounded by coats and accessories!

Now to put them away.

:~P

Update

They are put away, now I am tackling more of the office area.

Clutter

I think everyone despises that word.

Everyone has clutter.

Admit it!

I have been non stop busy to keep clutter down.

I never noticed how much I despise it until I started cleaning the house to get ready for my baby sister.

Between toys, laundry, books, and supplies, and more it just becomes one big mess!

Note: We have been caught up on laundry, the whole house. Now we just have to find a place to store laundry baskets! ;~)

My goals have been to cut back on clutter, in fact a lot of people have that goal.

I recently cleaned my room; I share with my 2 year old sister.

I cleared out half a garbage bag of stuff under my dresser and one corner. Not much can fit under that dresser.

The library was cleared of 2 bags of junk we will never use for crafts.

It is tough for me to toss, I get sentimentally attached to things.

I have a hug box of papers I am attached to. I will never get rid of it, too many memories.

Anyways, clutter is a big issue, and I was enjoying a sweet clean house.....

........then the clutter monster creeps in on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over house and garage
on silent haunches
and then moves on. (Carl Sandburg [my version] :~)

Not.

It does not.

I repeat does NOT leave.

Unless I put it away.

Everyone complains, I never have time.

Get off the computer.

Surprise your Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Spouse, Roommate, Children, Friends, and do something about it!

The stairs in our house is the worst offender, piano bench comes a close second followed by everything else...

I did something about it. I cleared everything off except the stair baskets.

We have the M&L's room basket, with baby T things.

And we have the S&G basket.

We also have a rule. And it is working.

When you go up at nap-time or bedtime the basket must be empty and everything put away.

That was a week ago and I was the worst offender! (I didn't put the extra sweater away).

My next project.... hmm....

The two 36" baskets filled and over flowing with coats no one fits, uses at the moment, and becomes socks and stuff dumping ground. It won't make the computer/office room cleaner but it will help! :~)

What will you tackle?

(I am just as busy as you! :~)
