March Musings - Day 27
Today my manager pulled me aside, and asked if I would like to help run ice cream. Of course, I said yes! So now I have a little kingdom to help run with sprinkles and sugar and spice and everything nice.
I'm excited to go on this hot fudge and soft serve adventure!

March Musings - Day 18
(Photo credit: www.syracusewomanmag.com )
I want to highlight two things:
- Nancy is a wonderful owner! I was worn out and not feeling the greatest, and she sent me home from work. She looks out for the employees and cares about each one! Very proud to work for her!
- Please read the wonderful article that was written up about Bailiwick! She was featured in the Syracuse Woman Magazine!
I love my job! <3

Work Heartily
Life has seemed to have sped up now that I am 18!
Work has started,
school is getting finished up so I can graduate,
and it just generally seems busier!
I've also been getting to bed earlier due to want and need,
and I've been getting up earlier as well!
You know I've become an adult when sleeping in, means sleeping till 9:30!
Other things have changed as well. Who I talk to, and on what level, seems different even if it's people I usually talk to!
I've found that I really am as flexible as I thought I was while working.
Sunday, we had an open house at work, to get a feel for things, and to get feedback from customers before our big opening!
In Sunday School that morning, one of our elders who teaches the class I help in, prayed for me and my new job, quoting Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV):
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ"
So, as I head off to work today, with this in my head, I pray you will all do the same! Whether it be work, or leisure, remember to give glory to God through your actions!

Growing Up & Other Changes!
Phew! So much has happened this weekend! I'm growing up...too fast for my taste, but inevitable.
First things first:
Only 17 days until my birthday!
And I will be 18?!?!
How?!?!?! How am I so old already?!?!?!?!!?
Secondly:
If I'm 18 in only a few more weeks...that means I can date in a few more weeks??
Really?!?!
I'm scared!!!...
...just kidding!!! I'm really really excited!!! John is a wonderful man!
Thirdly:
When did my friend Elijah grow up??
I don't mind growing up, as long as my friends don't!
Fourthly:
Heidi is actually going to Belize in a few months??? It seems so far away and yet so close!! When did she become old enough to nanny in another country?? Last I knew, we were at a sleepover, giggling over boys and who knows what else!
Fifthly:
I have a job? Like...I really got hired tonight?! I didnt imagine all that??? I really have a date written down on the calendar to fill out paperwork?! For real?!!? :~D Ahh I'm excited!!!!
Sixthly:
...I need to get my permit now...so I have photo ID...I can't stave it off any longer....
Lastly!
If you're growing up like I am, remember this:
You are NEVER too old to go on the swings! Whether you are racing to them to beat your friend and just do it out of sheer pleasure, or you sit down on a swing late at night so you can cry, you're NEVER too old for the swings!!! For which I am really glad!! <3 If I grew up and couldn't go on them anymore, I would miss them!
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Temptation of Time
Time.What a temptation it is to waste it! I bought a watch the other day. I absolutely love wearing it! The shiny gold watch with a sleek brown leather band, is memorizing as you watch the seconds tick by. While I currently write this on paper to transfer to my blog later, there is a strong temptation to waste time and energy. I'd really like to chat with a friend online, but between thoughts on wasting time, I'm doing laundry (a way I can use my time better!). Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells about time. How there is a time and place for everything. With this watch I've discovered how fast time ticks away...
...a second lost here, a second lost there. The school season is upon me. My time is being filled with many blessings. School, my job, sisters, housework, and more! I could waste it on frivolous things or I could use it wisely. Is chatting with a friend, frivolous? No! On the contrary! Chatting with a friend deepens the bond of your friendship. So why did I choose to sort laundry? Because there is a time for everything. And the time right now would best be spend doing laundry! Use your time wisely so you don't succumb to the temptation of wasting it!

Remember when.............?
Remember when I posted about interviewing the ladies from A Few Good Bananas for my People of Jordan series?
I was so excited yesterday...I got a call from Dad that A Few Good Bananas had called him and was interested in hiring me...Intrigued, I went to the shop and found out that my blog helped seal the deal...apparently they were looking for someone to help them. They remembered me from interviewing them back in March! One of the ladies said, "Look she can sew, she likes hats, she crafts and likes vintage things...She's the one!"
I'm very excited about working for them! I fit right in! They love to sing, dance, and wear hats. I love to sing, dance, and wear hats!
