Work Heartily

Life has seemed to have sped up now that I am 18! 

Work has started,

school is getting finished up so I can graduate,

and it just generally seems busier!

I've also been getting to bed earlier due to want and need,

and I've been getting up earlier as well!

You know I've become an adult when sleeping in, means sleeping till 9:30!

Other things have changed as well. Who I talk to, and on what level, seems different even if it's people I usually talk to!

I've found that I really am as flexible as I thought I was while working. 

Sunday, we had an open house at work, to get a feel for things, and to get feedback from customers before our big opening!

In Sunday School that morning, one of our elders who teaches the class I help in, prayed for me and my new job, quoting Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV): 

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ"

So, as I head off to work today, with this in my head, I pray you will all do the same! Whether it be work, or leisure, remember to give glory to God through your actions! 

Beautiful Blessings - 1/17/16

~ Coloring to relax and destress this afternoon. I love how this turned out!

~  A grilled cheddar cheese sandwich which reminds me of Great Grandma because she loved cheddar cheese!

~ Peach passion tea! Another of Grandma's favorite things <3

~ Seeing God work in my life...quietly but always working <3 

Beautiful Blessings - 9/13/15

~ Getting a pair of reading glasses to see if it helps with my reading. Especially after migraines. They are the most basic pair but they seem to help already. :~)

~ Passing by a restaurant and seeing pure joy in the faces of the employees as they greet a friend!

~ Having people pray about my migraines for me...tis an immense blessing!

~ My sisters being okay after they got stung this afternoon!! (3 of the 4 got stung)

~ Watching how God works throughout the day throughout our lives. Its amazing to see His perfect timing!!!

Beautiful Blessings - 8/6/15

~ Having creative sisters pretend that the lettuce we were snacking on was ice cream! ;~) Heehee!!

~ Going to work for the first time in over half a year!!

~ The sound of the sewing machine whirring!

~ Thanking God that my dance teacher and her family and all their animals and things were kept safe after they had a barn fire last Friday. 

~ Watching "Brigadoon" for the first time in years! I only remembered the last 10 minutes of it actually lol! :~)

Winslow's Remodeling

At the end of winter, Winslow noticed that tiling in the kitchen was starting to fall apart.

 

He decided it was time for a make-over.

 So a couple Thursdays ago, he rounded up some helpers,

bought the new flooring,

 and got to work!

Winslow was glad that the old wallpaper is hidden the rest of the year. He also wanted to remind you that when you are doing home remodeling, you should wear safety gear and watch your step.

That evening, the kitchen was 95% done!

Winslow loves how Great Great Grandma's table looks now!

The next day, he finished up the kitchen.

Saturday it was time to redo the bathroom!

The tiling was pretty bad in the bathroom. The gaps between the tiles were huge!

Winslow decided against a glass floor in there.

But when it was done, it was worth all the work!

Winslow is very happy with the way things turned out! :~D

People of Jordan: Danielle

Danielle grew up in this area, but moved away for a time. Eventually she decided to move back and she's been here for 16 years now. She enjoys living here with her family. She works with her lovely business associate, Linda, at Da Li Hodge Podge. She enjoys being here in the country with the beautiful green grassy areas. There isn't as much congestion either. She enjoys the State Parks, the Finger Lakes, Wine country, and of course the beautiful small towns like ours. Danielle loves the sense of community, with the fact you can carry on lovely conversations with people you meet on the sidewalk or in the store. It's very comfortable here and she is happy to be here.

Currently

Thinking: How exciting that there is only 21 days until I get to go to camp for a week! No diapers to change for a week! And I can take a million pictures. ;) Last year I took 1051, so I'm aiming for 1052 :)

Doing: I am petting Gillie, a minute before that I changed the baby's diaper and a few minutes before that the 3 year old was sitting on my head on my bed. :)

Working: Algebra 1. :~P Not my favorite, but I'm doing 3 pages a day to get it done by the end of the summer.

Saying: "Those are DVD cases." to the 3 year old.

Watching: Nothing at the moment, but I'm waiting for the Blimey Cow's Messy Monday video to come out. And the last movie I watched was Pride and Prejudice with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. I apparently have seen it before, but totally forgot and still don't remember watching it.

Listening: To baby toys and the living room being picked up. And the sound of Gillie eating, again....
