Snow! In April!

Awhile back, my friend and I were talking, and I lamented the fact I haven't been able to enjoy the snow. So I was delighted when I awoke to this!

My one friend's response to the snow was this: You know, I have a reason to believe that Moriah is the one who prayed for today's snow ;) lol

Another said: 

....Moriahhhhhh!!!!!

hahaha!

And still another said: I wouldn't doubt it lol

I will be truthful and admit I wasn't praying for the snow, but I'm excited it's here!

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

 

Encourage them today! Remind them how proud you are of them. A few words go a long way. They may be remembered for a long time.

Matthew 25:40

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

Small acts of kindness don't go unrewarded. Whether it's buttoning up a dress, finding shoes, or something simple as a hug. These things do not go unnoticed.

30 Days of Love: Day 12

Ephesians 4:31-32

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

These verses pretty much explain themselves. Get rid of any of the above things that still may hinder your relationship with them. Instead be kind, compassionate, and forgive each other. Forgiveness is like a breath of fresh air.

30 Days of Love: Day 11

Proverbs 27:9

Oil and perfume make the heart glad,
So a man’s counsel is sweet to his friend.

 

Spend time with them today. And while you are together, ask them honestly how they are doing. If they have anything going on, pray and offer advice.

30 Days of Love: 10

Ephesians 4:2

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Be humble with your speech, do not boast about what you're doing but listen to what they are doing. Be gentle and patient when you spend time together. And remember, just show your love.

Throwback Tuesday: Judy Garland

Frances Ethel Gumm, or better known as Judy Garland was a beloved actress during the late 30's and 40's. She is best known as Dorothy Gale from her role in the Wizard of Oz in 1939. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies of all time! I also enjoyed her in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944).

1 Corinthians 16:14

Do everything in love.

Do something special with them to remind them how much you love them. Whether it's as simple as chatting together or curling up and watching a movie of their choice, spend some time with them.

Proverbs 21:2

A person may think their own ways are right,
    but the Lord weighs the heart.

You may think this is a strange verse to choose, but think about it. You may think that you treat people kindly, but do you also treat them kindly in your heart? Do you treat them with kindness in with your thoughts? I challenge you to reconcile with God and with them.

Proverbs 20:6

Many a man claims to have unfailing love,

but a faithful man who can find?

Take some time today to pray for them. And if/when you see them, remind them you'll always be willing to faithfully pray for them. Not just the big things, but the little things too.

Proverbs 13:23

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
    and a word in season, how good it is!

Take some time today to encourage and compliment them. Whether it's as simple as giving the a high five, and reminding them how cute they look, your words are precious to them. :~)

30 days of Love: Day 2

Proverbs 3:3  

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck;
    write them on the tablet of your heart.

We often forget that other people need to be loved, so remind them how much you love them and think of them often. Nothing is more uplifting than saying those 3 simple words earnestly, "I love you!"  

April Fool's Day!

Winslow is hoping that the curbies are not a mirage or an April Fool's joke.

He's also hoping the sun isn't another April Fool's joke. ;~)

30 Days of Love

So I'd like you to sit quietly for a minute.

Think in your head about someone that's close to you.

Do you show them loving-kindness?

How often do you pray for them?

Have you encouraged them recently?

And do you intentionally spend time with them?

Whether you get along or not, you still need to show them love.

Whether or not you love them all the time, you still need to show them love.

Love is hard.

I constantly forget to show love to the people around me.

That's why for the month of April we shall be having a 30 day challenge to love.

A Bible verse and an action will be posted for each day. 

Choose someone in your life to show loving-kindness to.
