A Girl and her Tree - Snapshots

I found a tiny tree,

just perfect in size;

I showed to my shadow,

who quite agreed with me.

The ornaments from Grandma;

reminders of dancing years past;

I found a little corner for it all,

while the vinyl record went 'round.

A graceful dancer struck a pose;

And a reminder of the exciting future.

Frosty waved as he went by,

the little holy manager.

Throwback Tuesday: By the Christmas Tree!

Sometimes during the Christmas season, you need something special to wear to a fancy fete! A dress like this always does the trick. Especially if it has roses and sparkles! It's also a good dress for a bit of dancing around the Christmas tree or under a star-filled sky! This is one of my favorite vintage dresses as it twirls deliciously! Heehee!!

Throwback Tuesday: For a Winter's Evening

 For caroling, or a sleigh ride,
for winter strolls through the countryside,
or enjoying gentle snowfalls,
'tis a perfect outfit for a winter evening!

 ~ Winter Wonderland ~

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Meet Winslow

I realized today that you guys haven't met Winslow!

This is Winslow. He is a furby on the curby, looking for anything decorated in a special way.

He also likes making friends.

He loves the great outdoors, but will stay inside when it is chilly and snowy.

One of his favorite colors is red, just like a hydrant.

Christmas is his favorite holiday.

Especially when there are cookies to eat!

He enjoys going out and about.

From ice skating, to watching Frozen at a theater, he enjoys being busy.

He loves the carousel.

He loves going on adventures.

Especially surprise ones!

And at the end of the day, he's ready to treat others to a snack.

All in all, we love Winslow.

Today he pitched in and helped shovel.

And he was rewarded with a new winter hat.

:~)

Good Bye Christmas Tree!

Last night we decided to take our tree down. So we removed all the decorations.

And removed the tree. The tree is now sitting next to the compost bins, awaiting the ceremonial June 25th, Leon Day campfire. (Leon is noel backwards, because it is exactly 6 months till Christmas).

Our Christmas Tree!

Friday morning, bright but not early, we bundled up to get our Christmas tree!

We searched for the perfect tree! (from left to right: Lil' G, T-Tot, and L-Jo)

T-Tot decided to pick some cattails to make "fairy wands". She picked a few for her sisters too.

Lil' G and L-Jo love having "fairy wands".

After searching for a while Mom and I found the perfect tree! It was slightly tall but we figured we'll to to chop off the bottom anyways. So we took our Annual Girlies in front of the Christmas Tree picture. :~)

T-Bug thoroughly approved. So Dad "chopped", (actually sawed it but it sounds better saying chopped) it down.

So we got our tree and loaded it up on the car. The sun came out and made everything sparkle. It was time to head home! At home we put it in the bathtub to melt the snow off. Very smart idea. :~)

On Saturday morning we awoke to find the tree in the living room. :~)

So we commenced to decorate it.

A few branches received too many ornaments, but it still looked beautiful when we were all done.

T-Bug was sleeping while we decorated so she enjoyed seeing it when she got up. She's actually been extremely good about not touching the tree. :~D

Our tree turned out to be pretty and perfect. I love having it in the living room. Makes the house smell pretty too! :~) Its one of my favorite things at Christmas.

Most importantly is the reason we celebrate Christmas.
