Sometimes.......... (a poem)

Sometimes.
Sometimes we're strong.
Sometimes we fly.
Our faith is so strong, we touch the sky.
Sometimes we're fearless, cheerful and brave.
Sometimes we serve with a smile and a wave.

Sometimes.
Sometime we're weak.
Sometimes we fall.
Our faith is so weak, we cry over it all.
Sometimes we're fearful. upset, and scared.
Sometimes we leave with sadness and wish we could care.

Sometimes.
Sometimes we remember.
Sometimes we recall.
God is higher than it all!
God is with us,
he will not forsake us,
his power is mighty,
and we are his.
He will always be there when we fall.
To him we can turn when we're upset at all!
God is mightier than the world combined,
because he made us,
because he loves us,
because he cares.

Sometimes.
Sometimes we forget.
But God's still there.
His arms are open, and his smile is fair.
He's waiting for his precious child to come.
He's ready for his precious child to say,
"God, you are the one."

Throwback Tuesday: Pearl S. Buck

Pearl S. Buck was a daughter of missionaries and a famous novelist. Her novel The Good Earth was #1 for 1931 and 1932, and won awards including Pulitzer Prize and the Nobel Prize.

“Love cannot be forced, love cannot be coaxed and teased. It comes out of heaven, unasked and unsought.” ― Pearl S. Buck

“To serve is beautiful, but only if it is done with joy and a whole heart and a free mind.”
― Pearl S. Buck

Exciting things in store!

Exciting things are in store for the summer!

Lets see, where shall I begin?

Ah, yes!

"My poor little blog has been lonely you see,
so I'm scheduling posts for y'all to read!

Throwback Tuesday is the only thing that's keeping this alive,
so I've got surprises for the blog to revive!"

Some friends of mine have graciously agreed to write some guest posts for Thursdays during the month of July. The posts they've written are from an array of topics, so I'm very excited! Thank you very much for volunteering!

A weekly science post from my extracurricular science work will be on Saturdays starting July 5th!
(Saturday Science ;~) Clever name right?)

Keep your eyes out for all these exciting things!

Throwback Tuesday: Nelle Harper Lee

(Sorry it's a day late!)

Nelle Harper Lee, or better known as Harper Lee wrote a famous book known by all. To Kill a Mocking Bird is a poignant tale of the south. I hadn't read until recently, and could understand why this is such a special classic! Her writing style was clear, yet deep in truths. I thoroughly enjoyed it when I read it; I couldn't put it down. I will definitely be reading this classic again!

“Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.”

Majestic Clouds!

While running some errands yesterday, I spotted these magnificent clouds!

But I must admit, the pictures my Mom took of the clouds, later that day, were 10x more amazing!

Storm clouds are truly majestic!

Job 35:5
Look at the heavens and see;
gaze at the clouds high above you.

Roses!

I love roses!

*note, I did edit these :~)

Fun at the Zoo! :~D

Yesterday we spent a lovely evening at the zoo! :~D

When we came up to the snow leopard cage, he was acting crazy! He was bouncing back and forth off the wall!

He was looking at the innocently grazing white-lipped deer on the other side. "A snack!" the snow leopard thought! ;~) Alas the zookeepers wouldn't let him invite him over for dinner.

The girls had fun "riding" the elephant.

The penguins posed proudly for me!

The cranes are a new addition! :~D

Swans are so pretty! Don't you wish you looked that good when you sleep?

DUCKLINGS!!! :~D

T-Bug was having fun!

The lions were also posing!

Peacock feathers are so pretty!

We had a lovely time at the zoo! :~D

Throwback Tuesday: Doris Day

Doris Day, born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, adopted the last name Day, in 1939. She sang with Barney Rapp, Jimmy James, Bob Crosby, and Les Brown. When she left Les Brown's band, she was the highest paid female band vocalist in the world.

I love her in the movie "Please Don't Eat the Daisies"!!!!!! :~D

Kate Robinson Mackay: How do you like it, huh?
David Mackay: Looks like it’s out of Ivanhoe.
Larry Mackay: It’s much older than that.
Gabriel Mackay: How come it’s so big?
Kate Robinson Mackay: Because we couldn’t afford anything smaller.

Remember when.............?

Remember when I posted about interviewing the ladies from A Few Good Bananas for my People of Jordan series?

I was so excited yesterday...I got a call from Dad that A Few Good Bananas had called him and was interested in hiring me...Intrigued, I went to the shop and found out that my blog helped seal the deal...apparently they were looking for someone to help them. They remembered me from interviewing them back in March! One of the ladies said, "Look she can sew, she likes hats, she crafts and likes vintage things...She's the one!"

I'm very excited about working for them! I fit right in! They love to sing, dance, and wear hats. I love to sing, dance, and wear hats!

Throwback Tuesday: Beatrix Jones Farrand

While working in the garden today, I was wondering if there were any women known for gardening. Beatrix Jones Farrand was a outstanding landscape gardener and landscape architect. She designed at least 110 different gardens at estates, public parks, botanical gardens, universities and the White House! Quite often she would use native plants to make the gardens look natural and pleasing to the eye.

An talented gardener indeed!
