Throwback Tuesday: Doris Day

Doris Day, born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, adopted the last name Day, in 1939. She sang with Barney Rapp, Jimmy James, Bob Crosby, and Les Brown. When she left Les Brown's band, she was the highest paid female band vocalist in the world.

I love her in the movie "Please Don't Eat the Daisies"!!!!!! :~D

Kate Robinson Mackay: How do you like it, huh?
David Mackay: Looks like it’s out of Ivanhoe.
Larry Mackay: It’s much older than that.
Gabriel Mackay: How come it’s so big?
Kate Robinson Mackay: Because we couldn’t afford anything smaller.
