The Month of May

Tomorrow is the first of May!

Already???

What???

Anyways, for the month of May I'm going to be posting a devotional every day on the Proverbs.

I wrote the devotional last year and shared it with many of my friends.

I figured it was a good time to blow off the dust and then bring it back into the light for editing and sharing.

This is a good way to immerse yourself in some of the Proverbs.

Here are the Proverbs we shall be covering:

Proverbs 20:12
Ears that hear and eyes that see—
the LORD has made them both.

Proverbs 24:26
An honest answer
is like a kiss on the lips.

Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring.

Proverbs 19:11
A person’s wisdom yields patience;
it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 17:19
As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart.

Proverbs 16:16
How much better to get wisdom than gold,
to get insight rather than silver!

Proverbs 15:23
A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word!

Proverbs 26:20
Without wood a fire goes out;
without a gossip a quarrel dies down.

Proverbs 10:4
Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth.

Proverbs 18:16
A gift opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the
great.

Proverbs 23:12
Apply your heart to instruction
and your ears to words of knowledge.

Proverbs 22:1
A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Proverbs 27:9
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,
and the pleasantness of a friend
springs from their heartfelt advice.

Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward them for what they have done.

Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Proverbs 27:5
Better is open rebuke
than hidden love.

Proverbs 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 26:1
Like snow in summer or rain in harvest,
honor is not fitting for a fool.

Proverbs 22:11
One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace
will have the king for a friend.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Proverbs 17:1
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet
than a house full of feasting, with strife.

Proverbs 21:31
The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
but victory rests with the LORD.

Proverbs 20:15
Gold there is, and rubies in abundance,
but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.

Proverbs 12:14
From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things
and the work of their hands brings them reward.

Proverbs 23:15-16
My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad indeed;
my inmost being will rejoice
when your lips speak what is right.

I hope you will join me for this exciting adventure!

Tonight: I would like you to read 1 John 4:9-21 and the first proverb, Proverbs 20:12. :)
