Throwback Tuesday: Harriet Beecher Stowe

File:Harriet Beecher Stowe signature.svg

An amazing lady who wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin and was a very active abolitionist. She wrote more than 20 books, including novels, three travel memoirs, and collections of articles and letters. She was influential both for her writings and her public stands on social issues of the day. (Via Wikipedia)

This picture was taken in the gardens of the Seward Mansion. William Henry Seward was also an abolitionist.
